Real Case Studies | Ship Your Cargo from China to Brazil

A mining company in Minas Gerais, Brazil, plans to expand its underground mine. In March 2026, they imported 3 underground loaders from Xuzhou, China, along with matching hydraulic components from Yantai and Wenzhou. This shipment consisted of oversized cargo with a total weight of approximately 28 tons. Due to the oversized nature of the cargo and Brazilian customs compliance requirements, careful coordination was required before shipment.
After receiving the customer’s shipping instructions, we arranged delivery of the loaders to our warehouse near Qingdao and coordinated with the other two suppliers to deliver their components to the same warehouse. Our team reviewed the HS codes from all three suppliers (Loader: HS 8430.31; Hydraulic Components: HS 8431.43), supplemented the required MSDS documentation, and declared the hydraulic oil contained in the machinery as Class 3 flammable liquid cargo.
To ensure safe transportation, we reserved three 40-foot open-top containers one week in advance. Each loader was secured with steel pads, anti-slip timber, and six lashing straps, while photos were taken throughout the loading process for inspection and documentation purposes.
After arrival at Santos Port, the shipment was released directly by customs. Customs clearance was completed within five days, helping the customer avoid delays, penalties, and compliance risks caused by incorrect HS codes or undeclared dangerous goods.

An auto parts distributor in São Paulo sourced engine mounts, shock absorbers, brake pads, and spark plugs from four suppliers in Hebei, with a total shipment volume of approximately 34 cubic meters. Since the four factories had different production cycles, the customer originally planned to ship the goods in separate shipments. However, due to a previous negative experience with LCL shipments at the Port of Santos, with high unpacking fees and customs clearance delays, the customer wanted a more efficient consolidated shipping solution.
After understanding the customer’s challenges, GWT consolidated cargo from all four suppliers into a 40-foot high-cube container at our Tianjin warehouse. Before shipment, our team reviewed each product individually and standardised the Brazilian NCM codes. We added subheading 8708.80.00 for the shock absorbers, noted the INMETRO certificate number on the brake pad invoice, and assisted the customer in updating the CNPJ information on the bill of lading.
We then booked a direct vessel from Tianjin to the Port of Santos with a fast transit time of 35 days. The shipment was released through Brazil’s green channel, and customs clearance was completed within three working days. The cargo was delivered safely to the customer’s warehouse, helping avoid additional LCL handling charges and unnecessary customs delays.
